A Response to the OLD vs. NEW comment…

Peace and Blessings! To one of our brethren who stated his reluctance to use or even reference the New Testament, we highly recommend that you read Matthew-Revelation all the way through on your own.

Many people fall short of understanding The Most High because they simply don’t read Genesis-Malachi or feel like they already know it because they’ve read many parts, but not the whole thing. I absolutely believe the same is true in this case, and since this is a massively important topic, I challenge you to fully read Matthew-Revelation in full and pray on it.

The books of the New Testament are simply letters and testimonies that constantly quote and reference everything we know and love from the “old testament”. The Son of God has been prophesied from the beginning and I have gathered some scripture to further prove my point and I pray that you will review all of it. But, more importantly, I pray that you will read the full bible Genesis-Revelation in order to do your due diligence.

OLD TESTAMENT

Deuteronomy 18:15-19

  • Moses prophesied that YHWH will raise up a prophet from among The Children of Yisrael
  • This prophet will speak the words that YHWH will put his words in that prophets mouth
  • Anyone who will listen to YHWH’s words which this prophet shall speak in YHWH’s name, YHWH will require it of him. Who do you think this is speaking of?
  • See Acts 3:18-24

1 Chronicles 17:9-15

  • YHWH pledges to ordain a place for our people in peace forever
  • Because David intended to build YHWH a house, YHWH says he will build David a “house”
  • YHWH says that when David’s “days be expired” (after he dies) he will raise up his seed after him, which shall be of his sons and YHWH will establish his throne forever
  • YHWH says he will make this man his own son
  • This cannot be Solomon because Solomon was already alive before David died and he did not reign continually.
  • See Romans 1:1-4

Psalm 132:1-11

  • YHWH swore that the fruit of David’s own body will sit upon David’s throne forever, despite the fact that the majority of his descendants (listed in Kings & Chronicles) would fall away from righteousness

Isaiah 7:10-14

  • YHWH tells the house of David that he himself will make a virgin to conceive and bear a son and shall call him Immanuel (“Elohim is with us”)
  • This corresponds with Matthew 1:18-23

Isaiah 9:6-7

  • “Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder”
  • He will have an everlasting government full of endless peace
  • He will sit upon the throne of David

Isaiah 42:1-7

  • YHWH will raise up an elect one who will have his spirit upon him and bring forth judgment to the gentiles/nations

Isaiah 53

  • Isaiah prophesied that one would grow up as a tender plant before The Most High and he would not be handsome or attractive that the people would desire him and that he would be rejected and acquainted with grief
  • He would bear our griefs and be wounded for our transgressions and by his stripes we are healed
  • YHWH will lay on him the iniquity of us all because we had gone out of the way
  • This man would be brought as a sheep to the slaughter (The Messiah’s crucifixion)
  • Despite this, he is still prophesied to have prolonged days and be great
  • He has made intercession for transgressors

Daniel 9:23

  • Daniel prophesied that the Messiah would come

ENOCH

Enoch 45-48

  • YHWH will cause his Elect One to dwell among us and try our works (45:3-4)
  • Enoch sees “The Son of Man” who YHWH has chosen (46:1-3)
  • This “Son of Man” would loose the reigns of all other kingdoms (45:4-5) (See Daniel 2:31-44 The Messiah is the stone that was sent to break down these former kingdoms)
  • This same story is mentioned in Revelation 5:1-10
  • “The Son of Man” was named in the presence of YHWH before the word even began and he would be (48:2-3)
  • “All who dwell on the earth will fall down and worship before him AND will praise and bless and celebrate YHWH of spirits” (48:5)
  • YHWH will give the unrighteous over the his elect and they will not rise again because they have denied YHWH AND his anointed (48:10)

NEW TESTAMENT

Hebrews 10:1-14

  • The law was a shadow of things to come and taught us how to serve YHWH and to prove our faith
  • However, the sacrificing of animals has never made us fully perfect (or else we would’ve only done it once)
  • The Messiah was sent to be a single, ultimate sacrifice sent from YHWH to cover sins of his sanctified once and for all so that we can be redeemed to him if we walk upright and prove our faith

Luke 1:26-35

  • The angel, Gabriel prophesied to Mary of her son that would be born
  • This son is the Son of YHWH and will also receive the throne of David, his father according to the flesh
  • His kingdom will have no end

Luke 24:23-27, 40-48

  • The Messiah scolds people for not believing all that the prophets had prophesied about him
  • HE taught them out of the same scriptures we read today in the “old testament”

John 14:6-14

  • The Messiah is our path to YHWH, but does not surpass him. YHWH has given him this honor.
  • The words that The Messiah spoke are only the words he was told to speak by YHWH (See Deuteronomy 18:15-19)
  • YHWH is glorified even more because he sent The Messiah to us
  • The Messiah charges us to keep the very same commandments that YHWH has always commanded

Matthew 1:18-23

  • An angel appears to Joseph is a dream explaining what would unfold
  • Mary would have a child who was destined to save his people, Yisrael, from their sins
  • This fulfilled the prophecy given by Isaiah

Acts 3:18-24

  • They are quoting/referencing scriptures, namely Deuteronomy 18:15-19
  • If anyone will not hear this prophet, they shall be destroyed from among the people

Acts 4:10-12

  • The Messiah is the stone which was rejected by man, but will be The Head Corner Stone
  • There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. He is not greater than YHWH, but he certainly is the greatest among men

Romans 1:1-4

  • The Messiah was prophesied in old times by the prophets of YHWH
  • The Messiah was made of the seed of David according to the flesh and declared to be the The Son of God with power
  • See 1 Chronicles 17:9-15

Revelation 5:1-14

  • The Messiah (aka The Lamb) was found worthy to open the book with seven seals
  • Glory to YHWH and to his Son, the lamb of YHWH
  • Even the 24 elders reverenced The Son (these are likely elders like Moses, Enoch, Abraham, etc)

In conclusion, It is clear to me that YHWH has always planned to send us a Messiah (before the earth was even formed) because he knew that man would do much evil and would need intercession for sins that could not be put away with animal sacrifices.

We do not place The Messiah above our Father, but we must recognize that it is our Father’s will that we have faith in his son and walk after his ways (which are the same ways that YHWH has taught us from the start, nothing new). YHWH sent The Messiah to be an intercessor/intermediary for us to be reconnected with him since we need much intercession for our sins and are all found worthy of death because none of us are good or perfect in the Torah. He is our path to YHWH and everlasting
